My little Nephew

Since I can even remember we have been going to the Carter Christmas Eve party. I look forward to this every year but this party is beginning to get out of control..how many people can be held in one house, honestly?! fitting around 80 people in one home can be a bit of a problem but we do it some how and every year we have a least one more person join..I wonder how long it will last, but with that said I do love this party and always will because its all I remember. Last year my Mom and Dad started a little tradition of there own..after the party we all go back to my parents house and make a toast...starting in a circle we say what we are thankful for, afterwards, toasting with each other. I have loved this but something that has been around, again since I can even remember, is my dad setting out the lucky charms with a bow on them..we are not allowed to touch or open until christmas morning. Me being married of course I did not get to eat them but I just hope I have such fun traditions when I begin to have a family of my own.

And its finally here..

Dec 15, 2007
1 year of Marriage! I never thought this day would come by so fast..but it did, and it flew!!

To me it seems people hide things on here pretending that there lives are perfect or that they never struggle. You could also accuse me of doing so, and I will not fight you, but I am here to say, no I’m not living in a fairly tale. My life is not all roses. Jason does plenty of things that really get under my skin. But through out this year I have realized I married him for some pretty good reasons and I need to learn to pick my battles. Is it really that big of a deal if he doesn't wash the dishes the way I like? Or that he thinks he is always right? Is it worth a screaming match? No.I don’t know about you, but for me I like to be in control of things. Well who am I kidding? I like to be in control of everything. Unfortunately, Jason doesn’t like to give up all of that control. Sometimes that leads to an argument. If he would just realize I am always right, things would work out so much better! But since that’s probably not going to happen any time, I’ve decided to take a new approach. Compromise. And instead of constantly nagging about all the things that drive me crazy, I’ve decided to be more conscious of the things I love. Jason is not perfect and neither am I, but he’s all mine. And I consider myself to be pretty lucky to have him. Sometimes with our lives, we forget to stop and smell the roses. I know that’s an old cliche, but have you ever actually stopped to smell the roses? You can smell a rose right now, right? And do you remember how beautiful the sun is as it sets? You’re envisioning it now aren’t you? We tend to forget about the beautiful things until somebody actually points them out to us. Well you live 24/7 (for the most part) with your spouse. Nobody knows him better then you. So it’s up to you to remind yourself of the good things. Remember why you got married and why you stay married. Remember why you get a big smile on your face and why your heart skips a beat when you see him. Don’t forget to appreciate the little things. And don’t forget to recognize the reasons you love your spouse. Because I know I love mine more then I could ever tell you.

NFR and VEGAS trip..

Inside our hotel

Inside again

The horse show

Reba!

On are way home (ending to such a fun trip)

why does he look like he's trying to be hardcore? (thats okay I still love him)
We headed down last Friday to the NFR...I have never been and his family goes every year so this was the first time I was able to go with them. His Grandma and Grandpa bought tickets last year and I remember thinking that is forever away, but look its already gone and past, crazy how time flies eh? We were lucky ducks though we had 6 rows up from the bottom, does it get any better, well wait it does but count are blessing we were that close. We had a blast down there, we rode on the stratasphere (spelling?) and New York New York! I wanted to go to Cirque Du Solei show but didn't get around to it..for sure next time though. I forgot how Vegas was, lets just say CRAZY people! we had a few questions asked that I am sure we could have went with out but it did make for a few laughs. Jason lost 4 dollars gambling it broke us! just a joke but anyways he did get 40 dollars from his brother for cashing his in! Cant wait for next year!

Do You Understand?.......

Dont worry I dont either and I live with the man! I have never met a man so organized and un-organized at the same exact time. Organized meaning things like this, un-organized meaning always being late to things..along with me. I had to drive just so that Jason could figure this little sucker out. This is Jasons plan on how he is going to make us major moola down in Vegas gambling, dont ask me how it works because quite honestly I have no idea. If your wondering if it worked, it didn't. because he didn't dare gamble (good boy). We did however win some earnings off his little brother. His brother isn't old enough to gamble but did anyway so Jason had to cash in for him, lets just say we charged him a little fee for cashing:) is that bad?

More to come from Vegas! very soon.

Christmas Already....?

Stockings

Setting up surround sound

*I am doing this post again because I erased it..darn it!
Christmas came early for the Ahlins this year...We went shopping the day after Thanksgiving and got some great deals. We got all of are shopping done, well except for my mother-in-laws but I still think we got ALOT done. Me and Jason bought a surround sound and so that night Jason just had to put it up..I swear me and Jason can not keep secrets from each other, in the time we have dated me and him have not opened a present from each other once! Saturday we put up our christmas tree while watching the Grinch (on are surround sound, awesome!) but I will tell you what our cat better be a fast learner because he has a lot of butt woopin's coming his way if not! He has already broke 3 bulbs! It felt like Christmas though because I had wanted to go buy a nativity scene and some stockings and guess what...I forgot that we went and bought some after Christmas last year, what a nice suprise!
Happy Holidays!
p.s. the pictures were taken with phone, sorry.

Da da da DUM!!!

Wanna hear about twilight? This is my own opinion so STOP right here if you have no desire to hear my opinion on this movie and would rather form your own. When you go to see the movie seriously try not to have any expectations! I know thats hard considering that everyone (including me) loved the book so how could you not but I LOVED the movie overall.
There were times as I was watching that I thought "I LOVE this movie" but there were also times that I thought "what were they thinking!" Overall it was good but, of course, the book is ten thousand times better!! Just because of the detail in them! Baseball scene was awesome though.I wish it would have been a longer....seriously, they could have done so much more with more time. I left wanting more of the cullen family and the movie. The big question....Edward?. I completely feel in love with him. There were times at the first of the movie were I could not contain myself from laughing even in the serious parts but I wanted Edward and I loved him by the end. He is even hot to me now! It was a lot of fun. You must go and you will enjoy! I LOVED it!

Do you see what I see..?

Driving down the road I looked up and that is what I see..I hear that jettas after hitting over 100,000 miles start breaking down, Oh no! freak I cant have something like this for me that will do something like that, I already freak myself out bad enough while driving in a car let alone the jetta that could at any moment break down..crazy how I feel like my posts are about cars and anxiety <----thats not part of the story. Do I really want to tell you about my crazy inner thoughts?. If you can imagine my thoughts after this not to pretty..have you ever freaked yourself out while driving down the road..well I do all the time. What if I am driving and it starts shaking and all the tires fall off and then here I am sliding down the road metal against the road with flames shooting out the back and I am trying to stop but no tires so cant possibly do that. You no what I am telling you is the older I get the more I am going insane I used to just freak if I didn't have water all the time or if I didn't know where a hospital was at all times...now I cant even ride in the car..thats it! and its all because I looked down and saw this!!

Jetta forsale

jk.. but I am hoping that the jetta doesn't join the party with the rabbit by not running anymore for us. Oh did I tell you that story? The rabbit doesn't work anymore, The End!

Pheasants

The one and only bird we killed

The dog in his point..

Tonight we went pheasant hunting..well maybe more like we went and bought the birds and then attempted to shoot them, only killing one of the five. Dont worry though we had lots of fun throwing cow pies in the air and anything else we could find so we could shoot them.
Nothing new because I am scared of everything but guns scare me, I always think of what could happen like the gun could be pointed a totally different direction and I just know that some how that bullet will make a 360 turn and hit me but I did get behind and shoot after talking myself into it and getting harrassed by all the boys for being a wimp.

Its hard just to say one because I married him for everything that he is. I love that he has goals in life and that he works hard to achieve them. I love that he is so optimistic no matter the situation and that he helps me see the good. I love that he is such a peoples person and can talk to anyone and everyone. I love that he is always thinking of something new that he can be accomplished in. I love that he tells me he loves me every single day and that he doesn't know what he would do if he ever lost me. Oh I love that man!

Rubber ducky..honestly I dont know why..but he will call me babe most the time.

A week full of events..

I did so much this weekend I honestly dont even know where to begin...okay maybe I do lets just start with introducing you to "the Rabbit" long story short this car probably is the car you dread getting into and make fun of when you see coming down the road, no lie its that bad. Jason got it for free so being free he thought it was a GREAT idea, wrong..its cost us over 2,000 dollars to fix dag nabbit is all I have to say. Lets just list the pro's and con's of this sucker..Pro's: Gets great gas mileage (70 to the gallon we estimate) Con's: The passenger door only opens from the inside, no AC, no radio, leaks, no shocks ( can you imagine that), needs alot more work, wont start if under lets say 40 degrees, lights on the inside dont work, ugly brown and gold color, 1981 volkswagon rabbit ( never a good idea if your car is older then you). So Jason asks me to go huntin' with him and of course we have to take the rabbit because what good is it if we dont get all the use out of this thing and the great gas mileage?! Of course me being the anxiety freak that I am, I start to worry as soon as he says the word rabbit. How are we going to make it up there in that, I ask myself, But we do hitting every rock in the dirt road..even the pebbles.

Well this short story is turning into a long story. opps.

We get up there and I have promised Jason that if we see a deer I will shoot it..we see a deer..I dont shoot. The 2 block hike was actually a mile hike I would guess..honestly I was dieing Jason said I had leaves every where from falling and complaining the whole trip but pshh whateva.. we started back to the car and the radiator fluid was leaking. My panic immediately set in, questions like (what if we blow up, or get ate by a mountain lion, or get lost in the dark and a bear eats us?)

I'm starting to think this is my ANXIETY BLOG..from now on.

We have to stop every 30 ft to check the fluid so we dont over heat..on the way we pick up these lovely hunters who had shot a deer but didn't want to hike back to there truck..example of these lovely hunters..we F&#@ saw a deer and F%$# shot the deers and F*&^ dont want to hike..but they were lovely and fun. They even offered us beer oh how nice of them. We make it to there truck and we make it down the canyon only to start over heating as soon as we hit Nephi canyon oh but dont worry its all okay because the lovely hunters found us and they saved us after we saved them. We made it home safe and sound that night. I was tramatized.

That was thursday night. Friday I went with my mom and watched Elisa Dance and went to Goodwood for a Girls Night Out. Saturday I went to a shower and had the Sheffield family Halloween party. Sunday Jason shot his deer..I was so proud of him and he was so happy! A week full of events I tell you.
