Renovations

When we first moved to Elko we stayed in the Super 8, for 9 months. Bad deal.
It was due to the fact that we were remodeling our first purchased home. It has taken a very long time, lots of hard work, a little money (sarcasm) and is still not complete but happy to say we moved in here almost a year ago exactly.
Let me give you a tour.

Before Living Room
Explanation: Gross carpet, popcorn ceilings, dated texture, crappy molding

During
No more popcorn ceiling, fresh texture, and tons to paint

After
New Carpet (sure smells nice) new molding, fresh coat of paint, new lighting and a little decor..

Next I bring you to our kitchen.

Before
Heart Shaped cutout cabinets (Seriously), sketchy floor and sketchy everything really

During
Everything in the dumpster. New sub floors, Sheetrock and texture

After
New Cabinets, Hardwood floor, granite counter tops and fresh paint :)

Dining Room just for the heck of it.

Come into the Master Bathroom

Before
What do you know its disgusting.

During
Maybe a bit more disgusting

After
And you can finally open your eyes, big changes in the bathroom from tile to plumbing to windows etc...

Master bedroom is next

Before
First reaction and thought (besides the obvious smell, carpet, and molding) the closet is freaking SMALL

During
Idea...take down old closet, make walk in by taking space from laundry room. Perfect plan.

During

After
New, new, new.

After

We also finished off our laundry room and two extra bedrooms but that might just start to bore you.
New decks, sheds and yard work are on our to do list next...busy busy summer.

Are you here yet

I dont have a favorite season, I have a favorite feeling. It's the windows down, silent back roads with dirty bare feet feeling. It's when I can walk straight outside without pausing to fish out a jacket. It is curtains dancing around my room because of the cool breeze that pushes against its fabric. It is sunsets after dessert and grass on my pillow. The sound of lawnmowers, of falling leaves, and rain against the window. Pockets of shade and walks along a gravel road. I dont have a favorite season, I have a favorite Feeling.

This winter has got to me.
Many times I have thought about how to write this post.
Do I say I have been depressed?
That I just have not felt like me?
I usually love life, I love life to the very core, I love my husband, my family, my friends.
So why am I so sad?

I usually dont mind winter, when people would complain I never really understood,
this winter I understand.

I have so much to be thankful for, during the day and will have moments when my heart is so full of gratitude with everything I have been given. My health, a roof over my head, good examples in my life, people who care and people who listen. Why cant I just feel like me?

I cant wait for the summer, for the memories, sunshine and "those" feelings

Summer are you here?!

Still in love

Oh hey its me..let me introduce myself. My name is Megan and I have been very bad at updating my blog.
Instead of updating you on whats happend the last couple months and heck if im being honest the last couple years Im just going to make this short and sweet.

I love my husband, he loves me. These last five years I can honestly say have been the best years of my life. He has taught me so much about hard work, dreams, goals, love and to not take things so serious. I often question how I got so lucky, but lets not forget hes lucky to ;) My wonderful sister took these pictures for our 5 year anniversary, thank you so much.

Holy Moly

Well...Wow! I have alot of catching up to do. Like always.

P.S. 2 hours later after starting this post and no pictures. Thats what Instagram and Facebook are for right?

Where should we start?!

Aprilish

In april we went everywhere from Nevada to Iowa, so many states, alot of driving and lots of sing our lungs out in the car. We sell semen for cattle if I have not already mentioned this so March through June is always a very busy time for us, but we have fun, and we like driving lots and lots of hours together (except for the occasional bickering)

We also found out the Jasons youngest brother will be welcoming a little girl into the world in Novemeber! Now we for sure get asked all the time when we will be having a child, being that both his brothers will now have kids and we have been married almost 5 years!

We moved into our house! ahhh best feeling ever, I was getting a little tired of this hotel living style. It has made Elko a little more bareable now that we have our own house. We have spent countless hours remodeling this house and are still in the process..so good to see results at the end but I get a little cranky having to go outside every night and put fence up with jason in the back yard. It will be worth it..it will be worth it...it will be worth (lets just put that on repeat)

Mayish

Spent time up at the cabin lot and also had a shower for my seester-in-law. oh and my dad turned another year older. Lots of family time I tell you.

June was boring

July

BABY COOPER IS HERE July 1st. Can I just tell you I love my family, my in-laws and each one of my nephews and nieces. I also turned a year older..23 nothing to big ya know. A friend trip to the famous Lake Powell, I will just describe that in one word...AWESOME, top 4 in my book of trips for sure. Took a family trip up the mountains. p.s. I hate camping, I cant get that thought out of my head that a bear is going to eat me. I have issues.

August

My sister and Quintin came out to elko to visit..so fun, I love having family over, and I love showing her all the progress we have made on the house, and who could resist quintin? no one! he is so cute and funny.

August/September

DISNEYLAND! and we also took a trip to Jason mission in Lakearrowhead and then stopped in San Diego and LA. Me and Jason have never taken a trip really where we didn't know what we where going to do each day and where we would be the next night. I suggest everyone do that. Very good memories we made.

My Grandpa Carter passed away Sept 3,2012. He had not been doing well for awhile but I honestly thought we would have him around for Christmas (which was his favorite and which is also my most memories of him) I have never lost a grandparent, this is the first. I think the hardest thing for me was and is seeing my Dad and Grandma go through this. My dad loved him so much and was with his constantly. The funeral was amazing, the spirit there was so strong and everyones talks were so good. I enjoyed hearing the funny stories about him and also how much my grandpa loved my grandma, each one of his kids and grandkids. I found this letter the other day that my grandpa had wrote me one morning when he could not sleep, I will just tell you he is amazing man, and the words he wrote back then are still words that I needed to hear right now. So touching and I love him.

Well I am caught up!

See ya in march...no jk I will try my hardest!

Finally a Update

My Goodness its been forever, I dreaded getting on my blog a little bit because everytime I did, it was a picture of jax..so I need to update!

Here it goes..I need to try and remember everything from January to now..thats a task in its self!

Beginning of January we spent a whole 2 weeks in Denver this year and it was long, not to mention that my back went out and we both got very bad colds..made for a very long 2 weeks. This is one of Jasons favorite time of year, not only is it calving season but also his annual trip to Denver. I guess you could say he is in cow heaven. Weird I know. I thought when we got back we would almost be ready to move in our house and that didn't happen.

After Jax passed away we bought us another little corgi, this time a little girl. We got her last week and its crazy to have another puppy, I forget how bad it sucks to potty train..LAME. But she is a little cutie and I guess that makes up for it. We also just got back from NASCAR in vegas last weekend with our lovely friends Aubrey and Joe..Luckily they like us just a little bit and where able to come with us! It is always a blast, if you have never been its something you should consider going to! just sayin. And I thought we would be able to move in our house when we got back but that didn't happen.

Now I am sitting here wondering when we will be able to move in, I forget how impatient I am..Maybe Next Weekend!
Have I told you how much I love Instagram?

Sweet little Jax

This is not at all what I had in mind would be my next post but I wanted to let Jax have the spotlight for one last time.

Growing up I was not at all a dog lover. I didn't hate them but that was the extent to how I felt about them. Until I got Jax. This may seem so crazy to most and probably would have seemed crazy to me until I felt how it did to love a animal so much. He was so cute..and man did he have thee best personality. He always looked like he was smiling, he was the best at giving me loves when I asked for them. He used to run up to me with a toy and just look at me and wait for me to play tug-o-war or chase him which were his two favorite games. There are so many memories that I have and so greatful I did. On Friday my husband accidentally ran him over which ended up shattering his pelvis and dislocating his leg. He was so sweet and didn't even wine while we took him to the vet. He ended up passing away the next morning at the vet, I am so glad I didn't not have to make the decision, I dont think I could have. We buried him saturday and me and my husband have had such a hard time. I love you my little jax, jackson, jackson hole or my little jackson hewlet packard...dont forget "you got the moves like jackson" (sung to you got the moves like jagger)
