A Mayonnaise Jar and A Coffee Cup

I found this today on a blog I visit and thought it was important to share....

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 Hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and Favorite passions--things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.' If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. So... Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. 'Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that Really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked'. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.

What could it be...

Seriously I could say me and my husband are one of the dumbest people but I wont just yet. In July Jason found a stray cat and decided we needed to adopt it, and gave it to me as a gift. Usually I am not one for having an animal in the house ( sorry to all those animal lovers out there) and to say the least this was quite the adjustment for me. I just didn't like the fact of an animal being around all my stuff and the smell!!(dont worry it dont stink) But honestly I have grown to like it more then I thought I would but still dont know if its what I want...So back to the story, we have been putting off getting it first shots so today we made the appointment, jasons mom drove it to the vet and got its shots, come to find out this GIRL that we have been living with that has a hot pink color and whos name is izzy...is actually a boy, who would have guessed honestly! I mean there has been a few days where we were like mm...that looks a little off but nothing like oh I think this cat is actually a boy. Its weird to go from a mind frame of we have a girl to we have a boy...jason says this cat is a fag cat now! looks like we will be renaming it and buying a different color collar. So hear I will say it for you...me and my husband are one of the dumbest people you will meet!

Texas Trip

So I am just catching up on my blog with things I have done this year so some of them will be from awhile ago. In April we went on a trip to Texas with my Sister, Brother-in-law and there kids. We had alot of fun and did so many different things. After going through security at the airport and boarding the plane my husband turns to me and realizes that his hunting knife is still on his carry on, and let me remind you that we had been through security already, so the first thing I tell him when we get to the hotel is to put it in his other bag, well going through the security the second time was not as successful let me tell you he didn't remember to move it and the San Antonio airport caught it, it was kind of embarrassing having the police come over and raid his bag!. I think we only almost got killed about twice once when jason ran a complete red light, and yes I am exaggerating when I say we almost got killed this time because I was not even in the car but my sister and them might have almost been killed because travis drove on the wrong side of the road there, there highways were alot different then here. We went to Six Flags, The San Antonio Temple, The River Walk, The Alamo, and The USS Lexington...they were all tons of fun! here are a few pictures from the trip ( and really this is only a few )

Just before going to the USS Lexington

One off the Airplanes they use to land on the USS Lexington during WWII

Coming up on the USS Lexington, it was SO big inside I dont even remember but we went on like 8 different levels and I honestly think there were about 4 or more levels to go. After I knew that we were under water me and my sister got a little scared and decided to make our way to the top while the boys went a little farther. It had everything inside including dentist and barber shops...and anything else you can imagine.

This was the propeller, the ship had 4 of them to move it!

The view outside are condo

It was alot colder then both of us thought but it was still fun just because
its a beach

Building sand castles at the Corpus Christi Beach

Just had to add this in because I think its funny how little boys will and
can pee anywhere!

As soon as you got out that far you got attacked by sea weed! they said it was
because of the time of year.

Along the river walk (so neat)

This was in front of the Alamo...Doesn't it look different then in other
pictures, to me it does. They always look smaller in real life

Jason at Six Flags in Texas ( I just put this on because I though it looked cute:))
